xbox 360 picking help
I'm kinda confused on with one to buy. What happened to the good o days where a company just had one system.[:'(]
I dont need Live so I dont care anything about it.
I would like it to have HDMI
I looked on the 360 site and all it list on HDMI for the arcade and I guess "regular" 360 is sold seperatly. The elite is the one that comes with everything. I just need to know if the lower priced ones have the port. I dont care about me having to buy the cable.

I'm pretty sure the arcade systems don't have the hdmi, and the premium 360 with a nov 07? and later manf. date are the only premium ones that come with hdmi. There is talk of Microsoft unveiling the XBOX Ultimate at CES this week. If your interested in getting the 360 with the HD-DVD, I would wait to see if the ultimate is an actuality or just rumor. If you get a premium make sure it has a nov 07 or later manf. date, I believe those are the ones with the new guts that wont give you the RROD when your favorite game comes out and you play it for insane amounts of time .
I know the elite comes with the hdmi port and cord, Heard all08 models are suppose to have the port but not cord.
If there is a gamestop i would just go there and find out there thought's.

All models now come with the HDMI port, however only the Elite comes with the HDMI cord.
As far as picking one...
Depends on what you plan to do with it.
Xbox Live offers many things to download, from movies to free demos, small arcade games to tv shows. As well as ways to customize the dashboard.
The arcade comes with a 256MB memory card, and no hard drive. Thats good enough for saved games, short movie trailers, and some arcade games. Xbox 360 demos usually start at 600MB and go up from there. You need a hard drive if you have Xbox1 games you want to play on your 360.
All 3 can do online play no problem.
The Pro/Premium and Elite come with component HD cable/standard cables. The Arcade has standard cables only, the Elite has an HDMI cable set(includes cable for optical surround).
With all that said, what are you gonna do with the thing besides game play? Rent movies? Buy tv shows? Do you have an HDTV?
I have a new Elite (updated Falcon motherboard). since the Christmas rush did a good job of clearing out the old stock of 360's, any one you buy should be the updated version, with the 175w power supply and redesigned motherboard/chips. These are supposed to be much less likely to overheat or RRoD. It runs much cooler than the earlier models, seems a pinch quieter too.
www.xbox-scene.com is a good source for info, either on the front page news or in the forums.

You will want to get xbox live because thats how the distribute patches for games and such. Its all free to download the patches and updates you just have to make sure it will connect. You dont need a live account to download these patches either. I had it for 2 months and I can still download all of them as they come out on the market place.
I got my Elite 360 a ways back and I havent had a problem with the RROD so far. Although I upgraded from a regular version to the Elite because the Regularone sucked *** and didnt come with anything.
Although if you want to scare your friends just slightly pull out the Audio Video connector from the back of the 360 so that it still sets there but doesnt makeconnection. It will cause a redring because it doesnt read that its connected to a television set.
haha, just make sure they dont go as far as sending it in to get it fixed.
