Beware of any motorcycle listing you see for sale on usedbikesearch.com. Some of them may be legit, but very many are a scam. The offer sounds awesome like...

I have 04 F4i w/ 800 miles. Mint condition! Selling it for only $1200 because I had an accident and need to pay my doctor bills fast and I will never ride again. (or some other bogus crap like that!) Then they'll say something like "sure, use this ESCROW service (BAD IDEA!!!) and they will hold the money, I will ship you this bike and I will pay shipping (YEAH RIGHT, Usually several hundred dollars) then you can inspect the bike for 30 days. Then tell the escrow company that the bike is good and they will then pay me!


ANYWAY, the scammer is the escrow company. So basically, you pay him, he runs away, and obviously you get no bike and no money! Even their homemade escrow websites look professional, VERY PROFESSIONAL, DON'T LET THIS FOOL YOU! Check this out! This is an actual FAKE escrow site. Never use it. But look how professional it looks! Check it out, it'll blow your mind! SCAM ESCROW SITE

Always KNOW exactly what you are bying. You best bet is to see it in person before any money is exchanged. Yada Yada! I could go on all day!

Thanks for the info. When I was looking on ebaymotors before I bought my bike about 4 out of 5 auctions were scams. They had great pictures (legit) and wrote them up good but they never wanted you to email them through ebay. They wanted you to contact them via an email address in the body of the auction. I feel bad for anyone who fell for that.

You have to use common sense. If a guy is selling a bike because he needs the money NOW! Why would he wait for shipping time plus the 30 day inspection window before he gets his money from the escrow company? He'd run an add in the paper or call someone... a local shop would give him 1200 for a bike like the one listed here. It sucks there are people naive enough to fall for this.

How many of you have gotten that e-mail from someone in nigeria promising a cut of 25,000,000 if you help transfer funds out of an african bank.....
