Firebird...check...Strat...check...pretty good stuff (Ovation and Carvin acoustics?...please be on the lookout for a Martin or Taylor). Now, it doesn't matter as much what you have, as how you make it sound. Do you make those babies talk, X?

EDIT: What amps/amp are you using to get your tone? I hope they are tube amps...[8D]. Also, do you use any outboard pedals?
I use a Line6 Pod XT Live and a boutique tube amp. GREAT sound and I've been playing longer than most people here have been alive. I really don't need the Martins or Taylors for acoustic, I bang them up too much. A nice Gibby Dove or Hummingbird is next though.

EDIT: that strat is the Eric Clapton artist series made in the good ole USA with a black pickguard installed. The hot noiseless pups are AMAZING and you know it plays well.

I think my next guitar will be a Fender Telecaster.

Not my favorite on looks, but I absolutely love the sound! The style grows on me though everyday.

Sorry to thread jack, if I did. I've just been thinking about a new guiater alot lately.

That's funny, I've been GASing for a new Tele lately too. Nothing sounds like it and I really love the way they play. Still hate the looks though.

X,
You have a Blackie?!?!?! That cost a pretty penny, eh? I went to the NAMM show in LA about eight years ago or so, and spent a ton of time in the Line 6 tent. Amp modeling is very cool. I ended up going with a Hotrod Deville for several years, but then ran into a reissue '59 Bassman that I couldn't live without.

Yep, it's a Blackie. Says it right on the head. The deep V neck is amazing. The new Line6 stuff will blow you away. I have the online service so I can search for a band or guitarist and load tones modeled after them in seconds. I have MXR and BOSS and whatever pedals, delays flangers, whatever all modeled too. The Small Stone PS is dead on, you'd swear you had the Electro Harmonix pedal on the floor in front of you.

I had my guitar neck and body made by Warmoth and opted for the "fat" neckcontour"necks". I like a handfull when I play. I haven't played a "V" before, but if it is good for EC, it must be good for the rest of us hacks . The technology is much improved since I messed with the Line 6 stuff. So, you are telling me, I can look up Brian May, and get his tone (or whoever is on the site)? That is totally awesome!!! I run outboard pedals through my Bassman. I run a wah pedal (Scremin' Deamon), a Boss digi delay, and an "Analog Man" modified SD-1 overdrive pedal (I want to get a modified Tube Sreamer, though). Do you play live, or just for yourself and your "spiritual" needs (both are good)? Here are some pics of my number one, if you are interested:

Birdseye maple neck with ebony fretboard (and Jumbo stainless steel frets), Swamp ash body (all one piece) with a three tone burst,KinmanWoodstock pickups linky, LSR roller nut, Jimi Hendrix neck plate, Hipshot trem, Schaller machine heads, and a mid-cut boost toneknob for dialing him in to perfection (I named him "Bonedaddy"). I have spent years playing off the shelf guitars, and wanted to finally have a true #1. I am sure you can appreciate my baby. Here is the rest of my motley bunch:

I spent a long time playing live, now it's more recording and learning than anything else. I'm playing more classical again too.

I love strats, you have a beauty there.
