Default Withdrawls

Ouch...I stoped cold turkey with my pain medicine. right now, I am hitting the withdrawls. So far my symptoms are : Headache(migrane), Chills and sweating, vomiting, and my whole body aches like it just got hit by a damn bus. Now, an easy solution would be to take some pills. But im an idiot, I flushed them down the toilet. Ive heard this can go on for up to 3 days or more. Is there ANYTHING I can do to ease them a bit. Cause this is just horrible. And now my shoulder hurts worse thn it did when i first had surgery, I think i made a mistake. But i dont want them to call me in any more, Because i know what will happen once i get ahold of them. I will take the whole bottle within a few days. and then start all over with this damn withdrawl crap. Should I talk to my regular doctor about this? any advice is appreciated right now. Thanks.

Talk to your doctor and see if he can taper you off of the pills or suck it up and tuff it out. I've had I think 6 operations on various bones and joints, luckily for me, pain meds don't do anything but neither does the pain, I just shrug it off and move on. My medicine cabinet is filled with expired narcotics that I never even took one pill of. For me, I just did something constructive or something to be positive about instead of feeling bad. The way I look at it is that you have a choice, so make the right one. Good that your getting this out and all, seems like you know the right thing to do but doesn't mean that you have to go it alone, talk to your doctor and ask his advise, express your concerns and desires, and work on a favorable goal together.

its never easy to kick a habbit. Try to over the counter med, see if it relieves the pain on your shoulder to SURVIVE. But beware... the same thing that is ****ing up your liver with vicodin & whatnot are the same over the counter drugs. (asprin, tylenol etc) the opimum isnt going to kill your liver, its the Acetaminophen, the opimum is just where the addiction/withdrawls come from.

It's because right now you are a fein. Tough it out and talk to some people about this. Only you can kick the habit, but you don't have to be alone. Be strong man a few of us have been there, tough it out.

And yes i would let your Doc know, you parents, your friends, everyone. The people around you will support you.

Very well said... the more people aware of your situation, the better support *web* you'll have. Plus they will kick your *** if you pick it back up.

Im not denying you are *hooked* but if you are truly addicted... seriously look into some NA meetings. They are people that know your situation first hand. They BEEN there DONE that.

I dont want to think i am hooked. But I remember where it all started. it is weird. When i was 16 i had my wisdom teeth taken out, They prescribed my vicodin afterwards. And the very first time i took it, I have wanted more. Ever since then I have always craved them. even being off of them for a few months. not a day went by where i thought "man, this day would be better if i had some vicodin). eventually it went from 2 pills every 4 hours or so to 6-7 pills every four hours.. I actually have a huge bottle of muscle relaxers from when i broke my back last year. I know i cant get hooked on those cause i hate the feeling, but i took 2 about an hour ago, and all the aches went away except for my throbbing shoulder. ive been taking aleve for it, with no help. I think as long as i take the muscle relaxers through this i should be ok. We will see.

I just want to go to sleep and make this end. But i'm pretty sure that will not happen tonight. My aches are back. My head is pounding. ive been vomiting most of the night. I dont know how much longer I can take this. Im so glad I don't have the pills any more. I would have broke down hours ago and taken them.
