yeah, i had just looked it up, part of the berkley software distribution...hence bsd, i read that before and ive always rolled unix and linux into one general category despite knowing they are different. i also happen to pretty much roll os x into that same category since its unix based.

Yea right...not looking at ****...this day in age...HAH...everyone does...well guys anyway.
But...i ran the same windows xp pro installation for 6 years...virus free...with NO antivirus and NO software firewall...one hardware firewall in between me and the net...finally caught a virus...and it was my own fault...anyway i needed a reason to go complete linux. Might i mention...i have 234 gb of **** downloaded to my computer....gotta know what your doing thats all

Looks like I missed all the fun.
I am running windows xp pro QND edition. I optimized everything I can so it is secure, runs fast and great. I haven't touched linux for the last 2 years. I used to have a desktop with Slackware installed. Very secure and fast.
OK, here is my question...
bill gates is retired. Some say Steve Balmer doesn't have what it takes. And then Steve Jobs is 53 and has health issues. He probably will retire soon. Does anyone has any prediction on the future of this market? What will happen next and why do you think that way?
