Nice job on standing your ground. My wife didn't want to wear her A* leather pants when we were going out for a ride (she has her own bike), I laughed and said "yea.... no, your wearing them". It's that simple in cases of bodily injuring prevention, don't budge. Just tell her that is the requirements for riding a bike.

N8, your end results are good, but your reasoning is your problem. Or I should say how you worded it to us makes it look like the wrong reason and she may see it the same. You said you didn't want her to look like a squid or have people call you a squid for letting her ride like that. We all know the reason you had for her not riding that way, because you said you rode all day in gear.

Just the Dr. Phil coming out here... make sure when you're explaining this to her, you don't word it like you are worried about what you LOOK like or what other people THINK. Know what I mean? All you care about is her safety.

I didnt tell her that she would look like a squid, I just told her she wasnt wearing shorts and flipflops. She knows when she rides she has to wear her riding boots, either her mesh or leather jacket, gloves, helmet, and jeans, neither of us have pants yet but that is my next investment.

I love my wife too and would never let her ride on the back of my bike without gear.

hahaha...

You have to show her pics of rode rash victims. She needs to know that anything can happen. Scare the gear on her.
