Call the city of him. Show them the pics. You sit in a lawn chair on a weekend day and take a picture of every motorcycle that goes by to show thats its a danger.

yeah call the city and keep the complaint on hand and also send him a formal letter telling him that if it causes an accident that reparations can be taken from him for any and all damages. you can go after someones home owners insurance for stuff like that... but better get pictures of him doing it as well.

ask him not to do it again.
Send a nice note about anonomously. If he doesn't comply or doesn't reduce it, the it is time to retaliate. Maybe he simply has his head up his *** and doesn't realize the problem he is causing.

Automatic Water Sprinkler systems are worse, but I totally understand your view.

I've seen car batteries, chunks of metal in the road and have turned around, stopped, picked up the offending article, and threw it into the
nearest munipal looking building's yard I could find.

You know, the type of building that looks like it should employ people who keep this out of the damn street in the first place.

Next time I am in my car, and I see a big chunk of semi rubber in the road, I'm going to pick it up and dump it at a police station's lawn.

Reason?

State Troopers pull over more semi's which guess what genius, are the biggest and most hazardous vehicles on the road.

Local cops pick pocket law abiding citizens driving Kia's.

Point made.

hell yeah they are. we were out of town for about a week and i left my Mustang parked in the driveway. when we came back, the car had huge white spots everywhere from the hard city water that the neighbors had running through their sprinkler system. i asked them about it and they offered to pay to get the car cleaned up by a detail shop, so everything seemed cool. when i went to pick it up, the guys at the detail shop said they couldn't get all the stains off, it had actually damaged the clear coat, so the neighbor ended up paying a body shop to fix it up. turns out they decided to install the sprinkler system themselves, and didn't think about which way the water was going, so they had to pay a professional to come out and fix it up right. thought they were saving money i guess, but in the end it cost them a whole lot more.

these are also the same neighbors that used to mow their grass right onto my car and bike (our driveway ends at the property line)... i'm glad they've moved

my guess is that this guy has no clue that it is presenting an issue. Have you just casually mentioned it to him, like one day walk over with a beer in your hand, and one for him, shoot the crap for minute, then mention how it gets a little tricky on a bike when navigating things, like wet grass on corners. If he doesnt catch on, continue in a friendly manner, and tell him, you'll buy him a 6 pack if he can remember to mow the grass the other way. then, if turns into a jackass, then call the city and the war is on.

but try being a good neighbor first, he may not even have a clue its a problem

I agree try talking to him civily first unless you have had a run in with him in the past. dont go straight to the city first, if you do you just may have a war on your hands. some times even stupid people respond to kindness, he probably doesent even know its a hazard to a biker.
