It's the same thing they ave on cars I think.. I don't really know how it works, but it's suppose to give you excellent gas mileage, and racing performance when it kicks in

it has an extra set of valves and lobs on the cam when it gets into high rpms they open up i believe.

in my opinion they should make a 450 similar to the f4i. i think it would be nice if they build a nice bike that you could go out and hit the twisty on the weekend and during the week go to work with it, and when you want go on long trips.

im sorry i don like the interceptor the looks are way out dated to me and i dont know how true but i have heard from other its bulky and kinda on the heavy side.

by the way the fz6r isnt that bad its a detuned 600. i thought about it but i rather pick up a honda i dont have much luck with any thing from yamaha except there pwc

The vtec on the vfr operates different than vtec in cars but pretty much the same concept. Two valves per cylinder until you hit certain rpm and then its 4 valves per cylinder operating.

I'm still wondering why they went in that direction. They went from reliable gear driven cams to loud stretchy chains. It gets about the same mileage as the 5th gens. They lowered the kick in form 6k to 5300-5400rpms and missed with the ecm to smooth it out. That only took them 6 years to do.
