why is it??
"Brother salmon...thank you for being a tasty son of a bitch, that I might enjoy you with some lemonand garlic. Also, I would like to thank your father for blowing nasty salmon load onto the eggs your mother squeezed out of her nasty fish vagina, so that I might have the pleasure of baking your delicious flesh in my oven."
How's that Spirit?
P.S. Thank you guys for being respectful in a topic that we really shouldn't be talking about on this forum. If anyone gets offended in the slightest, please PM me and this thread is done. Please, continue to respect eachothers beliefs.

i remember the day i decided to become an agnostic after spending my whole life as a christian.
a friend of mine from college always said that he grew up in a haunted house.... his parents house. he said the spirt of the ghost was that of his grandmother who used to live in the house for many many years. she was a very strict christian. always attended church, taught sunday school, etc etc.
neither me nor my friends believed him that his house was haunted. so he invited us all over for a slumber party. it was a pretty big, victorian style house.
well, a little more background on the grandmother/ghost: she had obcessive-compulsive disorder. she was always checking the locks and the stove before bedtime. anyone who lives with someone who is obcessive-compulsive like i do (my girlfriend) knows how debilitating it can be.
Now I didn't believe in ghosts. I always thought ghosts were a bunch of BS.
Well, as it got later at night, my friends and i decide to make the house a nightmare for anyone with OCD. We unlocked all the doors (left the back door cracked open), turned one of the gas stoves on low, and threw in the movie "Poltergeist" and started watching.
Now, about 3/4ths of the way thru the movie, nothing out of the ordinary happened... but then suddenly, we heard a door shut. We thought it was the movie... but we all decided pause the movie and check it out.
WTF, the door was not only shut, but locked... and the stove was turned off. WTF. Ok maybe it was his parents. Well we reset everything, and as we started to get back to the movie, the TV suddenly turned off.
Now we were all freaking out, but my buddy who grew up there was perfectly calm and natural. Didn't even phase him at all.
We didn't even finish the movie. We just hung out and drank a couple beers on the couch. We started hearing sounds coming from the kitchen again. We immediately got up, and as we got there, the door slammed shut and locked itself.
We all about **** ourselves.
For the next half hour, we heard random sounds around the house... as if someone was checking the locks on the doors.
so yeah, i'm 100% sure ghosts are real now.
So the million dollar question:
If this lady was so religious, and lived by the bible, then why wasn't she in heaven? That whole experience made me loose faith in christianity.
Like I said, I'm agnostic... I'm sure there's something out there, Just don't know what...

Well...
I think that this thread proves that we as a group have matured beyond any expectations... :-)
I think it's not fair to say that christians are not tolerant of people that believe diferent from them. There are Many, many separate denominations of christians and most of us are very tolerant of people that believe otherwise. I believe that the problem comes when anyone, no matter their beliefs becomes intolerant of other people. That includes christians that think that anyone that isn't christian is going to hell, but it also includes atheists that think that christians that go to church are wasting their time, muslums that arent tolerant of other religions, ect.
I'm a Lutheran Christian, and last sunday the pastor was preaching about why we go to church...
First thing he said, was that if you go to church thinking that you are acumulating good points for your salvation, you are wasting your time. That if you act as a good person trying to earn salvation, you are wasting your time. And if you pray every day so that people see you praying and to prove to yourself what a good christian you are , you are wasting your time.
We believe that Jesus gave his life for us so that we might be saved. It was a gift, not a buisness transaction, therefore you are saved period. whether you want to be a good person, or not, wether you go to church or not.
You go to church to meet with other people that believe what you believe, to renew your faith by listening to it. And you act and do good deeds out of thankfullness for the gift that has been given to you.
So if you dont feel like praying, dont,
If you dont feel like helping thy neighbor, don't
If you don't feel like beeing a decent human being, dont be.
The gift is still yours if you want it. I find it hard not to be thankfull after receiving a gift like that.
BTW My sister and youger brother are wiccan, and they are NOT going to hell for it.
Neither is Vodoo, but he did have to bribe St. Peter at the pearly gates, how much was it? Half your colection of **** and...

. Saint Peter might just kick me to the curb. Brothers and sisters, let us just try to live our lives to the best of our own personal belief system...live aswell as you can. Part of me believes that you create your own luck, andYOU are the preson responsible for what happens in YOUR, life regardless of your beliefs. If you believe certain things, live your life according to those dictates. If you don't, you have failed by your own standadrs. I would like to say that those of you who are agnostic or athiest, I liked you before I knew about your beliefs, and I would hope you feel the same about me. That is a very simple concept to understand, yes?
^^ +1 on that..... I was so frustrated this morning because we did a funeral ride by per request of the family, well after we were done I was talking to some of the other riders and they actually came out and asked what I believe.... when I told them the were like bad used car dealers and would not shut up.. and being that I was not there for them or myself I just kept quiet about it.I think asking is tacky and in any other situation I would have went all out but that was not the time nor the place to do as such. I have a few friends in the local Christian Motorcycle association chapter and they know my take on it and respect me for it but some are pushy and cross the line. I wont say here what I believe unless asked. but please respect others boundries. if not you invite what they say in return. and by no way am I bashing others.
