hey guys. thought i'd make a quick post about this. i'm not a huge gamer or anything, but i do work for sony. more specifically, a plant for sony disc manufacturing. and we are the only plant (other than the developmental plant in japan) that produces blu-ray discs at this time. my actual job is in the replication department. we make the discs and i've been handling/testing/playing them for about 8 months now. so i might be able to answer a few questions.

on the the subjects and misconceptions about blu-ray. yes they hold much more media than you could ever need for a game or movie. they can be played as often as you like, in any ps3 console. total backwards compatability, ps1 and ps2. and backwards compatability for other media as well. you can still play your dvd's and cd's.

so that's about it. i guess. i'm tired and going to bed now. and no i cannot buy them before the general public or at a cheaper price.

I am going to buy a 360, not a PS3...especially with those creepy baby commercials!

Here is a good one for you. http://www.thatvideosite.com/video/3601

Yeah i was going to go there at bestbuy at about 2 in the morning and wait till they open to get one so i could sell it on ebay, but unfortunatly people have been camped out at all the walmarts, bestbuy, costco, eb games, etc. since Tuesday afternoon. So it looks like that idea is out of the question. Im thinking i might ask 1 of the people in line to see if they let me buy it off them for about $800 and then try to sell. But im sure if they have camped out since tuesday they are not going to be up for tat idea so much. But its worth a shot.

Gotta love the rich people with the spoiled kids on ebay.

I work until 6 today and then I'm going over to Target and if there are still no people waiting (they made everyone leave this morning that had been waiting since last night at about 9am this morning) there I'm going to start a line or get in the line if it's only like 5 people and have my parents bring me their credit card or write a bad check.

Mike

/fingers crossed

I once spend a night in line, but that was for Pink Floyd tickets in the early 90's when they did the Division Bell tour.

I saw on AOL.com that sony was saying that ur not gonna b able to play bout 1/2 of the ps1 and ps2 games on the ps3 due to compatability issues. I guess on some games it wont work at all and on others parts of the games wont work like when u select a different gun to shoot somebody it wont come up or something. Im thinkin bout buying that Wii...looks pretty cool since u get to do some of the action it looks like. I dont know...probly not gonna get ****e since my ars is broke for the next year or decade or so lol. Hopefully i can convince my parents and grandparents that i believe in santa again and that my heart would b broken if he dont show up wit that Wii system...i think they will just point and laugh at me and then my dad will smack me in the back of the head and tell me i aint gettin **** but its worth a try. Plus im a big zelda fan and havent been able to play it since i got rid of the first nintendo and the 64 version so i vote for Wii.

Funny! I just read on msn that ps3 can play all the games. They compaired it to the 360 saying how the 360 can only play some of the games.
