+1 Aken. In Louisiana this morning, I think you could drink the air. I walked outside @ 8am to feed the dogs before going to work. By the time I had done that, locked the carport up, and walked out to my truck across the driveway, my back was already sweaty. Add a helmet, jacket, gloves and riding my bike in stop-n-go commute, and I would have been a mess before getting to work. The readout in my truck said 89f at 8:45 when I walked in the office.

I wouldn't mind getting sweaty on my way home, but being disheveled @ work isn't my style.

Sucks too - cause there were some slow drivers on the highway this morning that I could have really enjoyed getting around/past on the bike.

I have an hour commute from gila bend to Goodyear. the temp when I left work Thursday was 117. Miserable unless your moving. But, if your not worried about how you look when you arrive, we just got "cool-vests" at work for all of us welders to use. Its like one if those neck snake things you dip in water only a whole vest. Soaks you pretty good but works like a charm. Ill post a pic and more info in the morning when I can use the computer.

Squids are new riders who flap around on the bike like a squid in the water because they don't know what their doing. Gear is a personal prefference. The only reason I wear pants in the summer is because the heat coming from the fairing roasts my calfs. Other then that its a t-shirt, gloves [only because the grips are too hot to not use them] and helmet. Jackets are for spirited rides

If you wonder what a squid is than see the squid thread. It's more than just a new rider. Other than that I can't help you much the temps here rarely get you to 100

Its been in the mid 90's here for the last week and that hasn't stopped me from riding all geared up minus leather pants. Like someone stated before, its fine until your not moving. Takes less than a minute for me to start sweating if stopped.

I'll commute all summer long in Utah (hits about 100 where I'm at). If it's over 90, I'll head up a canyon or ride at night if I want to ride for fun.
