Whats an R6?

when people ask me what kind of bike i have, i'm never sure what to say, because i don't know what level their on.
Do I just say honda? or CBR? or 2003 Honda CBR600 F4i? I usually just pick one at random and see how they react. Most of the time I think I could make something up and they wouldn't know the difference.

Haha, I do the exact same thing. Most of the time the reaction is simply "yeah" or "nice" with a little head nod.
^ yep I never do know what to really say... usually just say Honda or 600rr or maybe Honda cbr....
any one els get slightly offended when people say "crotch rocket"? I always have to correct them and say "sport bike"...

I want to point one more thing out.
The things said were joking on how stupid the general public can be! Although people that have been here for awhile know who's joking and who isn't. The stupid people we joke about will soon be the ones riding next to us with the way gas prices are.
Nothing I said was ment to start a fight. It say anyone was a lier. Just to point out that their is someone that might take that as grounds to buy a bike. Read what the others have said the general public has little knowledge about our sport!

So if a total noob strolls up to the forum and based on an off topic thread about 'whats an R6?' he buys a CBR just because of it ... then it is indeed bad because now we have a dumb a$$ riding a CBR and making everyone else on one just a bit stupider in the general public's eye.

Also, I was leaving work today and this guy just happens to come up to me and tell me he's got a Kwak 1100 that's been bored to 2200cc (or something like that) and he can do 0-60 in 1.12. I couldn't tell if he was putting me on or srsly trying to BS me. Ironic considering the post I made about BSing stats about bikes.
