I can't believe anyone would say this!!!! None of the above is remotely true. I know a little,I work at 2 wheel custom performance and I will ride any bike besides a busa!!!
Whoa. I think you may have taken what I said the wrong way. I'm not, (nor is anyone else as far as I can tell), saying an R6 is a bad bike. My post was about which bikes are most well known by other people. I still stand behind what I said. It may be different in other areas of the country, and I'm sure it is, but in my area, that is how sportbikes are viewed.

It wasn't a list of what is the best bike or what bike you would ride. Although its a bit strange that you said you'll ride any bike but a busa even though your mad about what you think others will or won't ride. I guess I'm one up on ya. I would ride anything, including a busa.

Again, it was never a post about what bikes are better, just which ones are more well known.

I think its hilarious when I get guys saying "Nice, you run NOS" lol.
Sometimes I'll just go along with it and then get my laugh for the day.

All I am saying is you get a new kid looking to buy a bike. He reads this thread and now believes "if I want to really ride I have to get a cbr. " its not that at all. This thread is used as a guide to help other and meet other enthusiasts of our sport. Im not saying where you live that's not true im just saying you posted it as a fact. If you come to a track day here most are on GSXR or a R6.

I am just trying to point out you can be a great rider on any bike! I do understand this is a Honda forum so they are favored. I just don't want people to think because people on the street do stupid things on a gsxr that its the bike. If the same rider rode a cbr he would do.the same stupid things.

And I wouldn't say your one up one me. The reason I would not ride a busa or a zx-14 is because im not a very big guy. And I only ride the track so to fight a bike all day and try to.turn it in at 130 into turn one. Not my kind of riding. But that's me I would never tell someone not to buy any bike I suggest to everyone

Buy your bike you will be the one riding it. Buy what's comfortable and what's right for you!

The guy I parked next to at work today had a Victory Cross Country and he was walking outside as I was walking in and saw my helmet and asked what I rode. So I blurt out '02 CBR 600 F4i and got a blank stare. I said it again and he was like oh a Honda. I need to remember not everyone knows what my bike is specifically.

Yesterday when I was hanging out with Ducati guys, I noticed one of them had F4. I went to sit and one guy introduce me to everybody. And the F4 guy said "I have honda too. 600" He didn't mentioned F4, just 600

I couldn't agree with you more on most of what you said. Other than you stating that I implied a cbr is the only bike to ride. Again, the meaning behind my post, and others is what does the general public view a sportbike as. Not as what is the best bike out there. I feel we are not seeing eye to eye on this. I simply pointed out what most of the public around here sees as a sportbike. Even though I ride cbr, I still don't think its the best bike out there. Its the best bike for me since they are so easy to ride.

Maybe I could have wrote it differently, I don't know. I really can't see how someone would take what I am saying as a fact that all bikes are bad except a cbr. I can't see anyone taking something posted on a forum for fun as a fact and as a buying tool for their bike purchase.

Anyway, I completely agree with you about bikes. I've owned many different brands and find they all have their nitch. By the way, the one up comment was purely a joke trying to lighten the mood a bit.

when people ask me what kind of bike i have, i'm never sure what to say, because i don't know what level their on.

Do I just say honda? or CBR? or 2003 Honda CBR600 F4i? I usually just pick one at random and see how they react. Most of the time I think I could make something up and they wouldn't know the difference.

Man, justasquid gets a green name and becomes all civilized?!? We shoulda hounded chain to promote him a long time ago! Just think how many people who'd still have heads

LJ, this whole thread began in a "tongue in cheek" manner. I doubt anyone that began reading the thread would believe the responses to be anything but poking fun. Maybe now that we have a Kinder, Gentler justasquid he'll start liberally sprinkling his posts with so we'll know he's joking
