To me its seems like most of the kids getting 1000's either want to have the worlds biggest ***** or they just dont know any better. One of the reasons I got a 1000 is because I didnt know much about sport bikes. Coming from dirt and playing around on a couple of cruisers I thought a 1000 would be better. I now know that I was wrong. But having a 1000 has tought me alot too.

They are a serious machine, but most people can't ride a 600 to it's full potential so I feel alright with buying a smaller displacement bike. Besides, if someone comes up to me and says 'that a 900 or 1000?', I laugh at them and say six. They're immediately taken aback... 'only a six?' My reply is 'you don't know too much about bikes, do you?'

Apparently a 1000 hasn't taught you how to spell "taught." Haha, no offense... just ribbing you.

If I ever get anything bigger than a 600 it will be a RC51 or (more likely) an Interceptor.

HAHA! How did I know someone was going to point that out[&:]. No, a 1000 did not teach me how to spell check.

I agree with all of you, most people including myself can't push a 600 to its limit but I own a 929. I love the extra power but I still don't use most of it. Its the same thing with a corvette or any other super car. You sure as hell don't need a 400hp car but they are everywhere and those people don't use even a 5th of that cars potential. People have them because its something they wanted and could afford. I'm sure we all own something stupid we don't need or even use to its full potential.

i must say i had 2 750's ...and when i went to the track i hated peeps on the 1k with no ability to turn the bike at speed.....and since then i've traded one 750 in for the 1kRR and its a beast. i love the power coming outa turns.... i don't wanna be that a-hole on the track hauling *** in the straights and parkin into turns....

for me the big issue is people on busa's that think they r on the fastest bike in the world and ride so on the street.

i swear to god every busa i've seen do a track day ends up in the dirt.
