4 stroke was explained to me by a good buddy in very simple terms.....
suck: when the piston moves away from the spark plug it pulls the fuel air mixture in the cylinder and then
compress: the piston compresses the mix and the spark plug ignites it...then
blow: the ignition blows/pushes the piston back which gives u the power....then
clear: the last stroke is when the piston pushes the left over crap in the cylinder out which is ur exhaust.
