I got a buddy who was pretty badly injured by a drunk driver running a red light. He has serious back and knee issues, but still takes his GSXR-1K everywhere. He's pretty clearly handicapped, so I guess it's possible.

Pretty sure a person could ride with a prosthetic designed for riding. Or with minor modification to the bike. The new Honda VFR could easily be operated by a left leg amputee (automatic transmission, hand shifting).

States do issue physically disabled motorcycle plates afterall. And handicapped parking isn't just about wheelchair access but also distance from the door. Which a breathing impaired person might need but shouldn't affect riding (oxygen tank backpack)

I have a bad back from a fall at work and I can still ride. Don't have a handicap placard or anything. There are a lot of disabilities that people could have that wouldn't impair riding too much. Like kuroshio said, it could even be something along those lines.

Damn, I forgot the most important part. He does have handicapped permits, and I think it's perfectly fair and fine.

I went on a group ride a while back and there was a guy there that had lost leg in a MC accident, he got a new bike and friends hooked him up with a trike kit and suicide shifter......Thought it was kinda cool that he was able to keep riding!!

when i lived in north st. louis they seemed to hand out the placards like candy. the local targets had like 30+ handicap parking spots(no joke). id probably say for every 1 person that needs to that handicap spot there are at minimum 100 that are just taking advantage of the system.

Yeah, I kinda hadnt really thought about it but, my wife had some kind of sudden illness this past May. Ends up she had a hole in her heart since birth......a big one! All is well now, all of the crying, sweating, and fretting (mostly by me) is over now. but she was left with one heck of a scar on her chest and shortness of breath and lowered endurance for life (she's 27) so yeah, well be getting a H/C tag soon enough, but from the out side looking in no one would know why....

Don't forget about House. He needs to walk with a cane because of his leg, but still rides a Repsol.

House and the Repsol........never thought it was possible to love, hate and evvy one person so much for the bike they ride. Just wish they would have wrote in a better choice of helmet than the same one Gwen Stefani's little minions wear in her video?!?!
