I got 4200 trade in for my 03 600 at a dealership with a lil over 10k on it..aftermarket glitter...PCIII 2 Bros pipe..yadda yadda...
Id offer him up 4000 cash..im sure if its legit he wil take 4k cash...but i would insult him thinkin your gonna give him 3500...if youre gutsy enough..try 3750 cuz it does have 17k miles and ask him if tis had 16k check up..thats a prciey one..chain and all the other goodies and tires arent cheap either....youre call..
4000 cash..final offer..

Seems like a good price to me. Check the sprockets and brakes and all that good stuff. I would offer like $4200.00 Make sure the title is clear and not salvage.

i would not pay $4200.. i sold my 04 in great shape with 10k miles on it for $4500..

thats almost half the mileage..

i would pay no more than $4000 and thats if it has newer tires and the 16k service has been done..

because if it hasnt tires and that svc are going to run you upwards of $500..

be patient if he doesnt take your offer, its not a buy the first bike you see contest.. its a get one that wont spend more time on a stand being fixed than ridden contest..

good luck.. and you are being smart by posting this info on the forum.. many of us have bought many bikes and have already learned the lessons we are trying to help you avoid.

the 16K service should be about $300.00-500.00 depending on what gets done. A bad sproket will have teeth that look like a sharks fin or will be very rounded off. Sprokets are kinda cheap so no big deal there. Check the oil to see how dirty it looks, make sure the fork seals are not leaking, make sure the engine sounds good, no leaks. Looks for signs of a crach like bent tabs and levers stuff like that. Just use your head and you will be fine.

Looks nice to me, I'd just look the frame over for some dings and dents to make sure that this wasn't wrecked and covered up with nice plastic.

how do i tell if the forks are leaking? if you push down on the front and over the area they moved if there is oil left behind then thats a leak right?
