I've heard that the 848's aren't as friendly on the streets as the 1198's because of their gear'ing / RPM's / V-Twin (or whatever it is they call it) / something or other.

I'd love to compare the two and give you a first hand account.

Every person I've ever known who bought a Duc regretted it. They break all the damn time and the maintenance is outrageous.

At a local shop that is VERY VERY highly rated the owner will honestly tell you theres no way in hell he'll ever own another Ducati.
