no biggie Classic. i am new to doing this, so im not that informed on it all. i used to run the sheetmetal shop at the company i work for and started doing replacements 3+ months ago.
im not sure what the unit i removed was exactly (a York), but i installed a 16seer, American Standard heat pump. heat pumps arent expensive to run, as far as i know. its only expensive when your heater package inside your air handler comes on (your emergency heat)......which kicks on when the heat pump isnt able to get the temp. to where you want it quick enough or at all.

No **** ...I install York all the time here in Aus ...they are not a bad brand and are very popular here..
Yer ... when backup electrical element systems cut in they do get expensive ...
Systems here do not usually get backup element addons here cause it usually does not get cold enough mate ..
Because you get pretty cold weather though , I would have thought they were near on all the time Jd?

idk, my mom got them as a kid too and grew out of them.
it just sucked today b/c i couldnt go home early. my co-worker was leaving the jobsite around 12 for something at his son's school and my supervisor got to the job late and i couldnt leave him to finish it by himself so i had to tough it out. no good, coach!

its a mechanical trade i guess, Classic. Yorks here that we replace are junk though, compared to the American Standard units we replace them w/. they last much longer and are much more efficient.

Funny ...York has a good name here .. ow well ..
I do allot of Carrier stuff as well ...they are ok too...
Mechanical is a prerequisite for working on heat pumps here ... up to a $5000 fine if you are caught un licensed frigging around with them ..
Just one more little question though ..
Do you have much to do with Lennox "Dave Lennox brand equipment "
I have been installing them for years into the upper end of the market place
(peeps with cash to splash)
They are top stuff here ..I put a 30kw gas fired furnace into my place ..
strong and reliable she is mate ...

my company deals strictly w/ American Standard, so we've never installed a Lennox. im not too knowlegeable on those either. i DO know that Train also produces the American Standard units we use.
we have a American Standard gas furnace in our house and it does a excellent job! my supervisor said always says gas furnaces are the way to go.
and no problem w/ questions chief. ask away, if i didnt want any questions or talk on that subject i would have left it out of my post, lol.
