Default What bike should I get next?

I know this is an extremely loaded question.

I'm lookin to sell off the ol' F3, and pick up something more modern. We all know I should stick with Honda because they're the best bikes ever, but there are a lot out there. I still want a sport bike, but comfort is a prime concern. I ride this thing for hours at a time. The F3 has a big seat which helps with that, and the riding position isn't too "sporty." Other than that, I want to get away from the annoyances of a carbureted bike

The only other bikes I've ridden were a 07 Gixxer 600, and an 06 Suzuki sv650. The Gixxer just felt like an absolute piece of Hong Kong crap, and I thought I was going to die every time I tried to turn. I think I'm too tall for it or something, or just can't figure out the riding position. I don't know, but I hated it. The sv650 was nicer, but the seating position felt too much like a cruiser.

Soooo, opinions please. Assume money is not an issue, though I'd rather not pay $10k for something when I'd be just as happy with something that costs $5k.

Would a sport touring be more your style? More comfy, but still has plenty of power with the 800cc V4 ... not to mention they sound bad ***!

. . . maybe. I'm tyring to get away from the bulky look, which I think is going to get me stuck sacrificing a lot of comfort :/

I really like the look of the RRs, so something like that. I was even looking at the ~900 RR's, but they still have that bulk to them that the late 90's bikes had. I guess I'm saying I'd like to stay in the CBR realm, if possible.

Well from my experience and also owning an '03 F4i, the F3 is a cadillac compaired to the rest.

General consensus seems to be that the RR's are less comfortabe than the F4i's. Go down and check out one of those. They came with the split seats from 01-03, and then went to the banana seat, which might be slightly more comfortable?

Yeah, everyone says the RR's are a serious pain after an hour or so. I wasn't aware they switched the f4's to a banana seat, that may work.

Could always fork out a couple bills and get an aftermarket Corbin seat for any RR you have in mind

Well, seat aside, how's the position overall? Is it similar to other CBRs, or does it have you closer to the forks, thus putting more pressure on your arms and neck?

i owned 2 f3's ,a 96 900rr a 2000 929 then a 2001 f4i then a 2001 929 then a 2000 hayabusa. not to mention a 02 gsxr 600 and a 03 r1 . out of all these bikes the 929 was my favorite. comfortable , powerful ,plenty of torque great looks. if i wasnt on a honda though my money would be on the r1 ...

it really just depends on what type of riding you like to do. but if you like the F3 and just want something newer go for the F4i . it was everything i loved about the f3 but better.

Are the late-model RR's physically "slimmer" bikes, or is that just an illusion the fairings create? I like that look. The 929 is still as wide-looking as the F3, and I'm trying to get away from that. Did they make a later F4i that was more RR-looking?
