Can anyone PLEASE tell me what this is? Its on the left side, ziptied to the passenger peg bracket. I looked up and down through my manual and couldn't find it.

mighty blurry pic. kinda looks like a rear brake light switch, but it's on the wrong side of the bike.

It looks like an add-on. If it's an electrical connection, trace it back.
I'm betting that it is a trailor light connection to the brakes, or some such.
The end looks like a house-wiring cable clamp on some kind of connector.

i've seen those at home depot.

what's is doing on your bike? rigged up battery tender maybe?

That's what I was going to say. Looks like someone rigged a homemade tender/charger?
