I am here to buy a bike today, gimme my price or i will get it elsewhere. It dont matter if your financing or paying cash, play it all the same way.

 

If you're willing to wait, scour around for the people who made the wrong decision of buying a bike and have to sell it. I see plenty of ads from people who just didn't know what they're getting into and bought a bike on impulse. You could probably score a 08 or 07 for 1000 less than what the dealership wants, and not pay all those dealer fees.

 

I'm patient but I don't think I can wait very long for this purchase. I'm inbetween vehicles and I'm not a great motorcycle mechanic so my bike is out of commission. Aren't too many dealerships around here too.

 

Make sure if you finance, that you can afford the payments over the three or four years you finance for. It is a responsibility that you are stuck with if you lose your job, a roomate doesn't pay rent, the electicity bill goes through the roof in winter, etc. Don't enter into a loan lightly. It may be hard to get a loan these days. Banks are tough because the economy is ****e. Good luck. Paying cash is better. Get something used. There are tons of people who scare themselves and sell their bikefor cheap. If you can be patient, you can get a deal. If you can't be patient, you will pay top dollar. Either way, keep us posted.

 

Oh about mates and rent.. I'm still in college and I'm using the dorms because they are extremely low hassle. I've had bad experiences with poor mates. I've already got the entire next year paid for.. and I've discovered how to live off of about $.70 a day in food. I did it all summer :P If any of you guys find an 08 grafitti one for sale let me know. I'd love a used 08

I'm in TN but college in AL and willing to drive pretty dang far as I've got family in MI, NY, FL, TX, WA, and CA so I can always just spend the night wherever. Price has gotta be right on that tho.. I've found some pretty good deals on the 07's.. the paint scheme on the 08 graffiti just turned me on so much.. that's why I thought I might be stuck buying the bike new.

 

I'd put down half cash, get Dad to cosign, get the job, and keep the rest for emergencies.
Will help with credit rating later, as has been said.

This is a wise thing to do. Hav ing that extra cash for emergencies is a really good idea (mods maybe too , and you are building up your credit score.

 

$.70 in food a day? thats about how much 2 packs of Ramen noodles cost must get old real fast
