I really do wish someone would invent or i guess fabricate a rotating engine stand for these motors. Not sure how you would bolt it up, but it sure would be cool to have. Think im gonna go tinker a bit, here welder, welder, welder

Now I'm kinda scared though.... looking at the gears, the dogs and grooves look almost brand new [:-] Tiny tiny tiny amount of wear on the edges of the dogs, but I'm not sure it's enough to cause my problem. I guess I'll find out when it's back together!

Take tons of pics to send to Honda.

Is that middle right gear on the counter shaft suppose to have angled teeth?

Yup.... they have to be angled to be able to fit inside the mating gear. It's a REEEAAALLLLY close fit!

Is it bad that I'm sexually aroused by pics of another man's motor? [8D]

Hmmm...so what might it be, then?

I stand corrected.... once I got the countershaft fully disassembled and could get a good look at the back side of the dogs, I do see some more wear than originally thought. The surface of the dogs is real shiny so you now it's been grinding. I took lots of comparison pics. So it looks like that was the problem after all

I got the countershaft completely assembled now wih the new gears. Now I've just gotta intall the new shift forks and shift fork shaft into the lower case. I'm hungry again though... after dinner! It's getting kinda chilly out, and dark... I think I'm gonna have to relocate my workshop to the kitchen floor, lol

Good updates.
I can just imagine your digital camera, keyboard and mouse is a little greasy.
