I've traveled all over the east coast and noticed a lot of areas that have speed enforced by air craft (most tickets... all tickets I've received has a air craft box to check for the method they used to clock your speed) Anyways, look at the road where you see the signs and you'll notice white lines on the road. They can time you using the lines. As soon as the watch your front cross the line, they time it until your front hits the next line. And a handy little chart will tell them your speed. This is what I have been told by cops... it makes sense, but it can be a scare tactics.
