Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I
work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government
distributes my taxes as they see fit.

In order to get that paycheck. I am required to pass a
random urine test, which I have no problem with.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of
my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine
test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a
welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it
for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping
people get back on their feet. I do, on the other
hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their
***. Could you imagine how much money the state would
save if people had to pass a urine test to get a
public assistance check.

I know exactly what u mean. It especially sucks when your in school and work hard to earn those few $. But the reality is they wont do that, casue people rather take drugs than eat and they will die, but dont get me wrong i feel the same way. It just plain sucks for us that do the right thing. Look at this way, I work in a grocery store and when I see people buying shrimp and expensive stake and than paying for it with foodstemps, it really drives me mad. Or when they have money for tatoos, cigaretts, liquor but pay with foodstamps for groceries, thats just F***ING b.s. I see this everyday, esecially the 1st of the month.

 

I agree. I had to take a urine test for my new job just the other day. One time at the grocery store I saw this woman (big booty mama) paying with food stamps (which is ok) but her son of about 8 was sporting some $140 Jordans. This was quite some time ago. That's just not right.

 

oh you wouldnt believe it. i deliver pizzas P/T on the weekends. about 10-15 of the 120 apt complexes i deliver to are section 8. and most of these people have nicer cars, furniture, and bigger TVs than me and most other people. some of the drivers are like, hey, they tip well. ****! i would tip better too if i didnt have to pay rent and had my groceries paid for.

and yes they should, makes sense. especially when these chics are having 3,4,5 or 12 kids just so they can get more money to buy crack with. we had a lot of evacuees (sp) from New Orleans during the Katrina ordeal, they gave them each a $2000 voucher to help get them back on their feet. they busted half of them buying crack on the east side.

 

I think you should have to fill out an application to have a child.

 

+1 to everything said so far. i worked at a gas station during college and saw people come in and buy candy and bs with the food stamps. i got so pissed one day cause a lady came in, was driving a newer car, and bought $20 worth of candy and sodas and chips. i almost punched her in the face.

I know I feel good having earned what I have. Just a sense of accomplishment. Much more to come as well!

i agree with you it also promots dishonesty, and low morals.

every one is looking for free money now a days threw the federal goverment and through other people. lawsuits are out of hand in this country just as much as welfare. same thing with welfare people scame the system and use it when they dont need it and i dont mind helping people that need help but u go down to welfare houseing here and see the cars these people are driving. i drive a cobalt there drivin caddys and licons whats wrong with that picture

 

Welfare has nothing to do with it..........it's DISHONEST people that ruin the good that welfare is tries to provide.
