Question Triumph Bonneville ... ?

So here's the deal kids.

I'm taking a cross country motorcycle trip this Summer. June 30th - til July 16thish.

Plan at this point is to take Lois with me (2009 cbr600rr).

However a little piece of me is debating getting a Triumph Bonneville. Something to be said about rollin cross country, Steve McQueen style.

Upsides? More comfort, better mileage (minor), Steve McQueen style. Sweet pictures.

Downsides? Not my CBR. Not as fun in the twisties. has 67 hp.. but 50lbs of torque. No sweet CBR pictures.

So have experience with these badboys? They're pretty cheap - would probably buy used 2009+, but they're cheap so new isn't out of the question either.

Big concerns is that they don't have enough *** to get out of their own way.

Nothing wrong with cruzin on something like that but there's a reason its a cruiser and not a tour-er.

Personally I wouldn't want to spend alot of time on the highway on a twin. Also, I suppose its a matter of preference but I don't find that seating position very comfortable for long rides.

If you do, I am leaving the NDFC. The bike may look cool(if your a foreigner) but take the CBR. You would be in a group with the Aussies and NZ's and so on.... not cool. Stay-------> Not---------> :icon_old&grey:
