When I got pulled over, i just turned my bike off, put stand down, visor up, and sat there with my hands on the bars. Waited til he came next to me and gestured to my ears and said that i need to shut my mp3 player off so i could reach into front pocket. Shut it off and preceded with explaining that one headlight is low beam and the other is high beam.

I agree that the cops job is dangerous enuf. And that the more comfortable he is, the better it will be for of you and them. To me, the least amount of movement, the better when pulled over.

Always respect those that put lives in danger for you to have what you have today. Freedom and safety

Where I live the cops are much less jumpy so I would just have to shut the bike off and listen to what he had to say. I do think that biker cops will react differently (although not always) than a non biker officer.

Anyway, I was going to post the video of the guy who get's pulled over by a undercover officer who pulls out his gun but I'm sure most of you have seen it. I then decided to post a different video that I thought was very good. The rider had reason to be pulled over (which he also writes in the info section) but handled the situation perfectly. The officer especially was really cool. Watch the whole thing to see why he got pulled over or just skip to 2:40 to see how the officer handled the situation.

That second video is almost identical to the 2nd time i was pulled over, except I had a short conversation with him about the motorcycle community of Dakota County.
Back on topic. I have always pulled, shut the bike off, take helmet and gloves off, get off and stand let to the bike and place the key on the passenger seat. I would think it would be important to take your helmet off so the officer can see your face, as eye contact is the most effective way of sincerity and communication.

to answer this question, not to long ago while downtown toronto i saw two bikes pulled over (i seen them zipping around a few moments earlier) there was an R1 (guy looked around 20) and a gixx, not sure on the kind, (looked 25) and they looked awfully sad/angry. they stood on the side walk while there bike was awkwardly parked on the road.. they both had their helmet and gloves off and jacket unzipped during the whole thing.. while the cop was writing two different kinda of tickets.... moral of the story: i think it depends how severe it is, if you know you screwed up bad and know what youre getting pulled over for then youre more likely to take off all your gear... just to get the cop in a good mood early lol
