Woody, I cringed when I read and visualized that tank-slapper and crossing over the centerline --- you talk about scary! Don't beat yourself up, we all make mistakes -- just thank God you made it out of this alive.......and don't forget to constantly thank your girlfriend for taking care of your back!

This was a tank slapper? Was this an '07 600RR? Doesn't the HESD prevent that?
I mean it was kind of silly to pass in a no passing zone as you were ascending on a hill, but this was not really an issue of passing, was it? If you'd have been splattered all over the windshield of an oncoming car it would have been the fault of passing. But you basically just goosed the gas and because you were on the hill the front wheel came up and you did not have the front straight and the tank slapper started, it seems. Is this right? Even though passing was not too smart, this could have happened to anyone just accelerating on a hill. Just a reason to get a steering damper.

Oh Man! Ouchie-Ouch-Ouchest! Looks like you got flogged with a Cat-O-Nine-Tails! It so coulda been me, last Saturday, because I did a similar stunt. My little group of Sportbikers blew past gaggles of Harley Drivers (Aspen Rally in the Ville), at twice the speed limit, over the double yellow, lane splitting with on-coming traffic. We were fully geared up, but all that was missing was a School-Zone we coulda pimped! I feel stoopid-lucky after seeing your back! Try Aloe-Vera. Cotton T-Shirt sucks as a bandage! Go to a drugstore and get some Trauma Dressings, they are torso-sized, and have a wider mesh so you'll pull off less dried puss and skin (Can I just say Ouch again?) in the mornings. I never want to go through what you are! Sorry 'bout the bike, too. Good job of taking responsibilty for your actions, if that makes you feel any better. Pace, Gris.
