Your right that sounds crazy, i cant see how taking off the pipe would make it handle better [&:]. But hey to each his own.

It's simple physics actually, look where the pipe is located at, way up top, everytime you lean the bike you have to move that weight too. Get it? That's why new bikes have mufflers way down, low center gravity.

I can see it handling a little better, depending where the pipe was. Your taking a few pounds off the side of your ride. Infact thats what the Honda dealer told me the other day when I was looking at the muffler on the new 1000RR. He told me it was to lower center of gravity of the bike, to make it handle better.
I get it, but on average bikes weigh what say an even 400 lbs. Average male 180. Average can 4lbs. I just have a hard time believing its really noticeable to the average rider, not that i couldnt be wrong. I think i may take mine off wed just to see though.
i'm going to be stepping back to stock piping from the V&H full system thats on mine...its causing my bike to lean out...but i did take everything off the other day except for the header and man oh man was it loud....i took it to 85 screamin the whole way...wow is all i can say...had to go back home and put the pipe back on before the popo came after me
