i mean if i were her i would be happy you lift the seat. living with my brother i would prefer he does that. i mean i lift it up but he doesnt. When i gotta drop a duece and get an *** full of urine im the one thats pissed...literally. I would much rather fall in the toilet than in urine. tell her that lol

My response is, and always will be
I want it UP so I lift it UP...
If you want it DOWN, put it DOWN....
My wife and I understand each other - that way, I don't pee on the seat, and she doesn't get a wet.....a..se

I may have mentioned this already, but since I'm the one with the recurring pleasure of cleaning said toilet...that pleasure is increased by not having to wipe down the dried splashies that inevitably, invisibly occur when a man stands to drain...in other words, the seat is always down.

Even when Guernica was around to clean my platinum toilets, I refrained from such uncivilized behavior.

So, my wife asked me why there is a spot above the toilet and just beneath the towel rack that get progressively darker over weeks. I told her it's the "tripod stance". Sometimes I lean one hand up against the wall and get a serious angle on the toilet (should wash my hands more often I guess)...she thought that was hillarious. She said she is going to put a naked lady picture on the wall so I can touch boobies everytime I do that.
My towel rack is just the right height to lean on

I haven't had to argue with my Fiance about that yet... I have pretty decent control.

Mine bitched about it when we first moved in together, so I figured "If I'm gonna have to lift the lid every time I ****, so should she!" So now I put both the seat and the lid down, and we're both inconvenienced. Plus it has the added benefit of keeping the dogs outta the bowl.
I have found that this is the only way both can be happy. I have to lift, so does she! And its a must with keeping the dog out!
