RE: I Hate/Despise/Loathe people that.
^^^^ no argument here. Also, remember that accidents usually happen close to home vs. further away, so wearing your leather pants (if you have them) all the time is food for thought. I wear my jeans occasionally, but usually only if it's really hot, because my leather pants have zero venting.
..........also hate people at the office that have their own world of "Private jokes", nobody ever knows WTF they are talking about, it might as well be some alien language. It's not bad enough that half our country blathers in spanish now, we have to put up with this sh*t.

.........base entire conversations on beer... isn't there anything more interesting in life (don't answer that I really don't care)

I see just as many Honda riders without gear, fact. I have that open minded thing going for me.
I wear a leather jacket even if it's 105 outside and yes, i ride when it's that hot. Full gauntlet leather gloves and Dainese riding boots. Always have a helmet and at least riding jeans.
What people wear is their business and I refuse to judge them for it. If they want to go on our group rides they must gear up, or they can ride elsewhere...freedom of choice there babeeee.
I do however judge idiots that stunt in public, do EXCESSIVE speed in public and post threads about how fukking cool they are doing it. They endanger others and look like fo0king morons doing it. fact again.

What gets me wondering though, is these buggers that do the "easy rider look", armless vest only, jeans, and bugger me dead to top it all off open face thing "with breakable sun glasses" ready to take eyes out, that is if the road does not grind away everything up to the eyes first...
I know they do it only for look only, the pedestrian thrill factor...
(gee look at me I am a tough biker!!)
Me......
I think the looks thing is a very good reason to put gear on ..!!!
I think that nothing looks better than a nice full face , jacket , good gloves and nice boots ...
all packaged on a nice CBR ride :-)
The little sweat is worth the look :-)
Until you have had an arm full of road, a bum full of curb , a face full of road rash or a foot full of hot exhaust.... you will be stuck on the dreaded learning curve and it can be a long corner to get around :-)
Since quite alot of bike accidents happen on bends , it is quite appropriate to call the whole experience thing "the learning curve :-)
CBRClassic
250,000+ road klms
Probably 50klm at least of them on my head, bum or some other equally painful part of my body all by accident ...

There will always be someone who wont wear there gear. There is always going to be crasheson motorcycles. I personally will be the guy who is going to wear the gear incase of an accident. If they dont want to wear the gear then let them. I know if i walk away from a crash I'm going to walk away with more skin than someone who didn't.
You can drill this stuff in to anyone it still wont stop. People will always ride with out gear and drink and drive/ride.
This is a problem we have in the military where wearing gear is mandatory. If you go down and get injured without wearing your gear the military can refuse to pay for your hospital bills. In the event of death they can with hold your life insurance.
I'm required to take a riding skills course once a year due to the fact that young kids come into the military get sports bikes and end up killing them selves. Its sad, I knew a 19 year old guy who had been in for about a year and a half. Got himself a bike and rode a wheelie on an over pass, lost control hit the barrier, the momentum threw him over the barrier and he fell 90 feet into a telephone poll before hitting the ground.
I wear my gear and I ensure my troops wear theirs.

I have nothing against these types of riders , harley ect .....
( me personally, I have 30+ years on jap bike road and trail )
BUT!!!!
I agree with K_carroll03 completely..
Some of these guys seem to think that they are on some how on another planet...
The planet where ?
You cant be hurt ?
You cant hurt anyone else ?
You can do any friggggiin thing you like ?
and no one can touch you ..
Including getting pissed out of their brains so they cant feel the road rash :-)
ever noticed that they tend to ALWAYS HANG IN GROUPS ???? hmmmmm ??
A security thing I expect... they need supporters to pick up the pieces when they throw their bad handling bikes ,with ****y seating position ..."so called hogs" down the road " and all with no gear on "
It takes all types to make up this world of motorcycles ..... but something got lost where it comes to the hog style bikie groups .... I think ? (my opinion only )
:-)
any hog riders feel free to reply ...
I have hung out with and unfortunately ridden with quite a few of these guys from preety mean groups/gangs before today... (when I was a young and riding a new 900ZIB in 1975 -1985 ) wayyyyyyyyyy back :-)
No offence but ( probably taken I understand) ...
yer they **** me too ....I think they give true sport riders a bad name :-(

does anyone else notice the insane numbers of bikes parked at bars. it always seems like harley gays...i mean guys. it pisses me off, how stupid to put alcohol and riding together. its like poker runs by the time its over only a handful of the people riding are sober. the cops should stop them all because its that kinda stuff that gets people hurt

They could turn around and say that all sportbikes should be pulled over because only a handful aren't speeding and stunting.

I understand the meaning behind that comment ... Not quite appropriate ... but I can see where alot of that kind of thought comes from ..
I personally have never seen harley riders as in the same class as die hard sport bike riders ...
I would never call one gay to thier face :-)
unless I was aboard my CBR1000 that is .. ready for a quick get away :-)
