Default Thinking about buying a new bike

Just wanting some tips on purchases, especially specific to these 2 bikes I'm considering, both are about 2-3 hours away from my city, so i can only check out 1 this weekend.
2005 honda cbr f4i 600 bike - Edmonton Bikes For Sale - Kijiji Edmonton Canada. - Seems maybe too good to be true
or
2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i - Strathcona County Sport Bikes For Sale - Kijiji Strathcona County Canada. - very high kms

even if I could get some questions to ask, or any help that can be offered.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan,

The '05 bike has aftermarket fairings (why are factory plastics gone?), lower mileage, & from the description in the ad - ready to roll. $5k seems high but don't know values in your region.

The '01 bike has high(er) mileage...however 39k isn't terrible IF its been maintained properly. However, mileage should be reflected in price. Having the maintenance records is a b-i-g plus when buying any bike. I like to scrutinize records when they are avail. Usually the type that keeps records - also maintains a bike properly as well. The bike seems to be well taken care of w/ nice mods. $3,300 also seems a little bit high but for a well maintained bike w/ records, I would pay a slight premium.

Both bikes look like good options. Just a matter of what you're willing to pay.

Good luck.
