And to think that some people don't believe in survival of the fittest. To ride without any gear is just plain dumb.

OH MY!!!!

I am defintely going to have to go out and get some full leathers all around. OUCH!! Just thinking about hitting the road hurts now. Just to let you know I do wear a helmet, but I need to be better on the other gear and wear it all the time. I have an old biker leather jacket, some good gloves, I wear pants most of the time (note to self: NEED TO WEAR ALL THE TIME!!), and calf high and knee high boots (I'm bad sometimes and wear sneakers)<----SHAME ON ME.

I promise to wear what I'm suppose to wear.

That was the reality check I needed. Reminds me that I'm not invincible

Just the other day I was stuck in stop and go traffic loaded to the gills with gear and sweating my a$$ off. Up pulls a rocket scientist on his gixx 1k. He's decked out with a T-shirt, columbia shorts, nike shox sneakers and an old shoei helmet . He looks me over and gives me the thumbs up. I look him over and shake my head.
There's no amount of preaching or scolding that will get these people to listen. It takes a good slide for them to figure it out.
Yeah It sucks to gear up for a 10min ride to the store but it pays off if something bad happens.

10 min ride to the store? I'll take my car :P

Don't mind me, I'm just a newbie here heh, but before I even think about getting my first bike (Honda CBR 600 f4i) I'm waiting on my MSF course class days, and I bought a helmet, and I'm looking into buying protective gloves and boots, and a jacket. But all the jackets at the store don't fit me too well 6'0 220lbs...

you know when i moved to gainesville no one at Home Depot knew me or what i have experienced. Everyday someone would make a wisecrack about all the stuff i wear to ride.
"You know it doesnt snow around here"- was my favorite. came from a woman who really didnt know me.

anyone at my old store knows why i wear the stuff, 70mph asphalt hurts. And anyone who says that they cant wear gear in the heat, or mesh doesnt hold upat all just come and ask me

of course all my gear is black so everyone gives me the "it must be so hot in that!"
icon textile timax jacket
timax long gloves
motorhead boots
scorpion mainframe helemet
fieldshier mesh pants

all went through the 70mph crash and all i walked away with was some skin missing on my elbow and my right arm in the sling w/ a bruised bone

I always wear full gear except for gloves. I felt like I didnt have the finite control I wanted with gloves on. After seeing a couple of those pics and reading the story I will be wearing the gloves every single time I go out now.
