w00t, just got my first one done today

Its a tribal dragon on my left rib cage (placement not being one of my better ideas... ribs = lots of nerve endings, not much muscle/fat to protect them). To be honest, I had to keep myself from laughing while it was being done. Not sure why I found the whole situation funny... it had a lot to do with the fact that every time the artist was working on one area, itd stop hurting. Then, just as it stopped hurting, hed have to take the gun away to put more ink on or whatever, and by the time he started again, it would be painful again. Im not exactly why that was funny to me... I have an odd/morbid sense of humor like that [8D]

Anyway, pics tomorrow when I get back to my apartment and get my memory card adapter to transfer the pics from my phone to my laptop.

And yeah, tattoos are addictive... I just got mine today, and Im already thinking about future ones

 

i have a cross in the middle of my back and my last name going above it
i have plenty of other ideas, but what i usually do is when i think of an idea
i just think about it for a year or so and i think in every situation, "how would i feel if i had it now"
just to make sure
then if i think im sure about it then ill go get it

make sure u go to someone that is good and credible
price should be the last thing on ur mind
nothing makes me laugh more than seeing a sign outside a tatt shop "Buy one get one 50% off"
which actually is what a shop around here has.

the place i go to is kinda expensive, around $150/hr
but tattoos are forever, so quality is the most important

 

I have "Ambition" written in a script font across my back. There's alot goin on in there if you know what to look for, but I won't go into all the details. The outline was a 4 hour session, followed by another 4 hour session for the shading, and another hour to make everything perfect. I'm very happy with it, made sure to give the artist abig tip each time too for all his efforts.

And after the shading. Pretty fresh, so still a little red in the pic. No colors, I think 7 or 8 shades of black and grey.

 

thats sick man you had a good artist and a cool *** design... did you make that design yourself or find it somewhere?

 

i have one tattoo so far on my right arm. bloody brass knuckles and it says "love" in the holes where the fingers go through. i am going to get the word "free" on my inside upper right arm and the word "hugs" on my inside upper left arm so when i stretch out my arms it will read "free hugs" and yes i am being serious about this. i am also thinking of getting a small turtle somewhere on my body. i am like a turtle. hard on the outside, soft on the inside.

 

I started off just wanting the lettering, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to add. First came the eagle wings, then the crown at the top, and the devil tail at the bottom. Sat down with the artist, and he came up with the design for me a couple weeks later. Like someone said earlier, they're addictive
Currently looking for ideas on a half sleeve/chest piece.

i like that alot

and that mechanical design a few pages back is sick
it doesnt even look like a real tattoo
it looks REAL, like its REALLY there, but too real to be a tattoo
