stung by a bee...
Was out on my favorite "track" tonight...I have a combination of roads that I like to take with agood numberof twisties, and it is about a 60 mile ride round trip. About half way through, I feel my right thigh light up with pain...kind of like when you get a shot and how the medicine burns as it is going into your vein. I didn't panic, I knew I had just been stung, and I slowed down and pulled over. No sign of the critter, but it sure did sting. I didn't let it distract me, got back on the bike and finished the ride. After getting stung, I almost ran over a squirrel that dashed out, almost met the drivers side of a car while going around a blind turn, and met up with an unmarked freshly paved and graveled road...but I had a kick in the ***!!! What an escape to a different place riding is. Have any of you guys/gals ever been stung while riding?

RE: stung by a bee...
I left my house and only got approx 200 feet away (neighborhood) with my visor open for air. I saw the little yellow blur curve in at me and felt it come into my helmet next to my left temple. I immediately felt the SOB sting me so I pulled over in as steady/slow fashion as possible. I ripped my helmet off as soon as I stopped hoping to kill the little bastard but he was gone. It sucks cause my temple swelled up for the next 4 days.

Yeah, if I'd have flipped out, I probably would have done something stupid and fell over. Granted, I was only doing like 20-25 but keeping your cool while something is stinging your face is not easy. I forgot to add that my left eye was a little swollen/droopy for the next few days making me look stupid. In the end, I'll let my body take the hit instead of the bike. Can you imagine dropping b/c of a bee?

RE: stung by a bee...
My buddy got hit in the chest by a bat on his cruiser. He said it was all he could do to hang on! My dad got stung below his eye while doing yard work. He said he ran around his yard yellping like a hurt dog. A few minutes later, he said he couldn't recognize one side of his face...G.D. bugs anyway!

RE: stung by a bee...
I was riding on my ninja 250 around the block and was going around 40 and a bee struck me in the neck (had no helmet on). Sucka hurt. I just thought it was a bug. Farther down the road my neck got worse and worse like someone punched me in the neck. Stopped at the stop sign and looked in the mirror. Dam stinger was still in me. Good thing I'm not allergic to them or I'm sure my neck would have closed my wind pipe.
