Default Stolen Bike, pt.2

So yeah, for those of you who werent around... In november 07, i moved to a new apartment in baton rouge. after having my bike parked there for a total of 3 days, it was stolen one night along with 2 other bikes, a truck, and a trailer.

So you'll never guess who calls me at 5am this morning...

good ole Det. such and such with the louisianastate troopers. aparantly the ***** who stole my bike (or some ***** who bought it) was involved ina crash last night in Thibadeaux, a good ways south of here. There was apparantly enough of the guy left to throw in jail; and enough of my bike left to tow in. he says condition is listed as unknown, but you know what? i really dont care. before today, this was a total loss, so im basically walking on air right now.

i pick her up thursday. ill be sure to take lots of pics and keep you guys updated.

I'm sure they jacked up theignition to get it running without a key. Hopefully everything else is in good shape.

Wow. It seems that this is happening more often now a days; less often than not, but its good to see something turn out good in the end. At least they are heading in the right direction.

Good for you!

Hope insurance totals the bike and you get a new one(cause the bike was probably thrashed). Those theiving bastards hopefully are put away for a long time with the rider having scars to remember what he did for the rest of his life.

nah that aint happening. when i bought the bike, i was 19 years old, and some of the best full coverage quotes i got were pushing $4k/yr, so i bought the bike cash. i could've bought an entire new bike with those kind of ins. payments. but like i said, the owner of the towing company says the bike isnt in bad shape at all, just cosmetic damage on one side. and im not worried about the ignition barrel, i can replace that :-p

im just so excited because before today. this was a total loss.. i had thought that this investigation began and ended when the dpy took my statement. if i got back my bike in 13 pieces, i still would've been happy, just based on the pure principle. you know?

just cosmetic damage on one side.
kinda like my bike.

Congrats, take pics and post for us, maybe even go to small claims court against the guy in jail. Maybe he has a rich mommy and will pay for everything that he broke.
