So i can't find the off topic thread for the sprocket so here it is. Has anyone moved the sprocket? Is it lying in a field rotting? I am willing to pick it up anywhere in the PNW. It would end on the same lat that it started. Same cold water and everything. Help the cause move the sprocket.

Yeah, looks like its still in Maryland. Hasn't even left the East Coast yet, so PNW is out of the question. Maybe there should be a rule set that the sprocket must travel WEST, otherwise we're gonna be fishing it out of the FL keys. . .

 

Yeah, and arrangements should be made between the sprocket holder and the next person to retrieve it. Don't just take it way the hell out in the boonies somewhere and expect someone to get it. It's been about a month & a half just sitting there...

 

I'll post in there so a mod will see it. i know it'll get removed, but at least they'll consider the idea.

I gotta disagree with the "make arrangements" thing, though. We know where the sprocket is based on pictures and instructions. Drivnig into the boonies to get it, I feel, is the heart of the fun. You're going out and finding 'buried treasure" that some stranger left there to be found.

 

If no one picks up the sprocket by Sunday I will go get it. I'm willing to take to Ohio, if there is someone interested in moving it from there on.

 

Great all that was the whole point of this thread was to make arrangments or get more peps involed. I would love for this thing to hit the middlands aka the bread basket states and makes its way west. Go where it wants so to speak and see the states. Lets just get it moving.

 

Well at least Cheever is stepping up to the plate. If everyone in the forum was involved, we could move the sprocket to pretty much anywhere, and someone would move it again immediately. But since not everyone is paying attention, I think the best (quickest & practical) method to move this thing is to pre-arrange locations with other members.
