God this forum is awesome. Thanks everyone!

My two spots I hit in the car regularly are St Louis (300 mi), and Mackinac Island (450 mi), which seeems like nothing compared to you guys.

I average 75mph in the car on freeways, but hate the highways on the bike. When taking major roads \ public highways instead of freeways, what sort of average speed do you guys see? I'm trying to recalculate my times, here.

You could expect to add 1.5 hours to your trip time depending on how many little town there are.

To cure the stopping for a drink, camelbak in the tank bag or on your back. If it is summer fill it with ice, and you will have some cool air under your jacket.

I just recently did a 600+ mile trip in one night on the f4i, took 10 hours on the way there. Only stopped for gas. I had a packed tank bag that I layed down on, really wasn't too uncomfortable.

I can't seem to hunt down a tank bag for my bike. Got any leads?

We have these two:

pretty big bag, helmet holder is awesome, has backpack straps. holds a lot- we fit a d60, tripod, water bottle, all sorts of stuff in it.

and

Smaller, maybe purse sized, still holds a good amount.

Here's another one: I've only got 600cc here. That's awesome for carting around town, but is it going to be a problem donig 50 - 70MPH for hours straight? I mean, I know it will WORK, but is the HP drop at the higher RPMs along with the increased gas consumption going to be a huge pain?

No? Shouldn't be. I didn't like the Ninja at interstate speeds, that was hard..the f4i has been fine.

First off...horsepower DROP at higher rpm?

Also, at 70-75 I averaged about 40+ mpg..
