Speeding Tickets?

RE: Speeding Tickets?
In general:
Cops hate Sportbikes. Anything that is as quick as something out of NASCAR/INDY immediatly pisses them off. It makes tham feel like they are in 'competition' with the rider and that they may actually get to chase and catch something so quick, kinda like shooting a deer in the head while it is taking a dump. They also hate the whole 'riciness' of a sportbike. Get a noisy one, they hate them even more.
Then again:
Some cops don't care about sportbikes, they figure if you run into a car you are the one that's gonna die. They know that you pose a small risk to the general public and that you are out therehaving a little fun and not really hurting anyone else.
No tickets on the bike, 1 in the car in the past 10 years...and yes I was actually late to pick up my Mother to take her to her to dialysis appt. and the fat c**ksucker (on a bike, half helmet, shortsleeves, thin gloves)still gave me a ticket. I hope his vest don't work next time he needs it and he needs a kidney.

RE: Speeding Tickets?
Last ticket was in the car at least 5 yrs ago. The first timeI ever got out of getting one was last fall on the bike. The cop was really cool, and actually said "I'm suprised you pulled over". He discovered that I was a relatively new rider, proceeded to tell me about the bikes he's owned over the years, told me to keep it down, then sent me on my way................I felt both appreciative and lucky.

lol where do you live man i have never seen a cop on a 4-wheeler. Athough if i was a motorcycle cop i would ride a enduro bike. I think ktm makes a 900cc class. That way no bastards could get way no matter where they went.
Dluv35 me and you same boat. never got a ticket on my bike or in my car (2000 Trans AM), but got 4 in a f***ing 4 banger toyota pickup. Go figure
Damn city cops

RE: Speeding Tickets?
Well I have one on my bike, for doing 70 in a 55. I was keeping pace with traffic when I got pulled over, but the police officer wasn't a total dick he wasn't condesending or preachy or anything. Although, he still gave me the ticket and I have never had any infraction on my driving record not even a parking ticket. So, I go to court figuring I will have to take a driver improvement class or get a pbj or something, but no the second I said I was on my motorcycle the judge rolled his eyes, and gave me 64 in a 55 w/ increased fine. It kinda pissed me off cause there were people there that went around school buses when they had their red flashing lights on one dude going 45 in a 25, 25 is residential by the way, some even had prior tickets in the last 2 years that all got off with pbj or driving improvement classes. Ugh, sorry I just had to vent.

RE: Speeding Tickets?
That sucks for you all. I've flew by a cop going 45 in a 25 and he didnt even blink at me in my mustang. I guess when you work at mcyd's and you give them free pies when they escort you to the bank they like you a whole lot more.
I did get reported by some people for going 55 in a 25 in my talon residential durring school hours once, no kiddies were running around tho. I was trying to test out my 91 talon TSI with a new boost controller and boost gauge, i warped the pistons, completely destroying the piston rings and scoured the block because i was running too much pressure (16-28+ psi on stock internals) . I forgot to change the springs in the wastegate, and i ghetto rigged my BoV and wastegate so it idled with small pressure =P. They pulled me over when i coasted off into a business parking lot because my engine cut out sounding like a 12 gauge, and shut off with lots of warning lights[:'(], the guy didnt even turn his lights on, just the spotters. He said that my car was making a lot of noise and he was just checking if everything was ok. I tried to stay calm but its hard when you're pissed, so i said, "Well officer to tell you the truth, i think i either blew my piston rings, bent my crank, possibly my rods or i may have warped my pistons." Then we had a little chit chat about cars and what i think happened with the blowoff and wastegate not letting enough pressure out of the system, and i actualy gave him a little lesson on turbos, explaining to him how a buddy of mine and I basicaly ghetto rigged my BoV/wastegate to vent part of the pressure backwards into the system to try for more low end torque and an attepmt at less turbo lag(very stupid idea). Then, to my dismay, he asked me for my license and registration. I had no insurance so I thought i was skrewed, but he gave me a warning ticket because he said he couldnt prove the car was running or that it would run anyways, and then he gave me that, i'm cutting you a HUGE break look, and said have a nice day Mr. Cross.

RE: Speeding Tickets?
Nope. Not a one.
I've found that around here, cops really don't give bikes a hard time unless you are being a complete dumbass (stunting, EXCESSIVE speeding, WOT starts, lane dancing, lane splitting, etc.) But I ride like a sane person with a little speeding mixed in (usually 10-20 over........MAX).....and even then, they don't even give a second glance. Really cool cops we have around here.
