Our anti hijack response units don't use shotguns, they use 9mm full auto H&K or similar.
2 or 3 rounds from a shotgun and the driver is still alive ?????- shooter would have been dismissed from the Team.
And our cops would have arrived the next day, if you're lucky !

Just for info:
The anti hijack units don't use BMW's - they have specially worked Opels. Good for 150MPH so there's NO WAY a crappy little Ford Bantam utility-1.3/1.6 litre or 1600cc (we call them bakkies) could give them a run, even in traffic.
They don't hang out of car windows (most of them would fall out)
Sorry to rain on the parade, but I see the Reaction Unit Cops at least once a week, and we drink coffee together. Some of them have Honda's
If they had said it was a drug war or someone being "smoked" for some other reason, maybe then, but hell, with a shotgun from that range the weren't trying to stop the hijacker, they wanted to kill him.................totally off the wall............probably be charged with attempted murder by the hijacker. Our cops want to keep their badges (I think it has something to do with the free coffee at the XL TeaRoom)
