Sounds of the 1980s...
NOT REALLY. I wasn't born to the late 70s the last child of five of career Marine Corps officer. I attended parochial school (St. Benedict's) for the most part and spent most of my youth working on my Grandfathers horse farm 1500 acres and averaged of 350 head horses, year-round ( He was a former DI, so just imagine what that was like) I personally might be persuaded to say I miss the late 90s. When I was given the opportunity to give the orders, but the grass is no greener on that side of the fence

I was born in the early 80's... and I remember some of it. However, looking back at the 80's, there's nothing that stood out to me (and still doesn't) that I like much. Mall-bangs, a good chunk of the music... whatever. Maybe if I'd been older... maybe if my teenage years were centered there... then maybe I could see that.
Hmm... now that I think of it though... I don't have anything good, really, to say about the 90's, and I sure as heck don't have wonderful things to say about the 2000's so far. I guess, to me, it wasn't the years or a timeframe... it was only the memories of the people and things. Each one stands out on it's own, but they're all equal to me... whether 80's, 90's, or recent years. I think I might have liked the earlier years because people had more freedoms, you could do a little hell-raising and learn your lessons (unlike today where you do anything and they seem to throw the book at you), people were generally friendlier and less hateful, etc etc. I think it's just the product of the world we live in. The world now is about "reality" and how self-absorbed/rich/step on everyone else that we can be... hell, it's why Judge Judy makes more than a Supreme Court Justice... because people see her being a total Biatch and LOVE it!
*laughs* I love living in this world, but this world isn't heading in the right direction. I see how things are going, and it's the sole reason I don't want to try and bring a kid up in it. I think I turned out to be an alright kid, and my parents did a great job... but I don't have the same faith in this "new" world... or in myself to have the patience and disapline my parents had.
Wow... okay, really ran with that one... my bad.

I don't remeber much of the 80s I was born in 85. I'm a 90s kid and man I loved those days riding my dirtbike on the street everywhere, now you getharassed and chased by the cops if your not on your property.
(relax its a dirtbike)
Today everyone is offended by this and offended by that and no one can have an opinion unless they want to make a formal apology after. People need to stop being so uptight.
Quick make a time machine!!!!!
