Hey all in know it would be blasphemous for someone to have a bag on the back of a sport bike but riding to work everyday with a bag on my back is getting really old.

I have looked at a few places but i really haven't got a good feel about them does anyone have any experience with tail bags.

2nd one looks good, seen a lot with similar set up, but with a small rack installed (paint protection).
When I 1st wanted to carry some gear on one of my bikes, I just got a tank back, & mounted the set up on the pillion seat. I bit the bullet years ago & use a rack & bag on the bike, not the same set up, but I can carry a lot more stuff & the top part of the rack is easily removed when you don't need it. just comes down to how much gear you need to carry.

 

Now when you say rack is it a metal rack or is it a plastic rack or bungee?

 

Plastic?!!, no the small racks I've seen for that set have been coated metal, can't discount the old bungee ropes though, apart from nearly talking out my eye's, that have come in very handy over the years.
This is my bike set up, with 2 bags that zip together or you can use either one solo, either facing the seat or on the rack.

 

From all that i have been reading sounds like they make them so they don't scratch but as i know with anything rubbing its going to get rubbed raw anyways. I really want to stay away with the bar setup just because i have the high mount exhuast and that would interfer with things anyways. Wish the last guys that i bought the bike from had the rear seat still when i bought it.
Anyone else with some baggage on their's?

 

I use some saddle bags made out of condura by teknic for about $40 on ebay.
They work great and plenty of room.
