well, it's not even 800cc, so that should help... and it's not a sportbike....
i bet insuring a 600rr would be more expensive than that duc

I'm an 18 year old male with one season of riding behind me. Any bike is going to be expensive right now.
The new Hypermotard is an 821cc 110HP motor with 89N/M of torque.
The 600rr is a 600cc with 102HP and 61N/M of torque.
The Ducati is a beast...that's sort of what scares me.

oh, i thought it was a 796... still though, it doesn't say supersport... i'd still think it'd be cheaper than a 600rr. it's not just based on hp numbers. supersports are more associated with speed and deaths which is one of the reasons they're so expensive to insure. your hypermotard would be considered more of a standard bike, not sportbike.
don't be scared of a 110hp bike. if you're scared of it, don't get it. i know you've only ridden a 250, but don't be scared of a bike with more power. be excited about it and respect it. it's just like when guys go from a 600 to a 1000. not much changes. sure it has a lot more power, but it's not a different animal...

I guess I'm not "scared" of the power, I'm just kind of getting used to the idea in my head of how much power is there. I'll have to respect it, but that's fine. I mean really...a bike with 70HP that's 110 pounds lighter (the duke) will get me in just as much trouble just as quick as the Ducati.
I'm really liking this bike though!
