Unless she pushed him over, your buddy is at fault. If he truely believes his girlfriend is at fault, then I can guarantee that your buddy will end up abusing the welfare system one day.

Sometimes you just have to make the girl happy. He should have just put his lid on, said goodbye, ridden a few blocks down the road (out of sight), then taken it off. I don't condone going helmet-less, but if he's going to do it any way...
Edit: Oh, and the guy should just man up and pay for the damages. His girl was just looking out for him (in that fun, bitchy, drunk kind of way)

I did not vote since I see it like this. They both shold spit the cost of repairs to the bike since they both were being stupid. He should use a helmet and she should control herself better and maybe not drink so much.almost every time me and a GF got drunk nothing good ever came out of it. Booze, bike and women don't mix.

It's the dudes resposibility because he was dumb enough to bring the arguement near the bike. He should have had a clear clean break before getting to the bike. And even if she did push him and the bike over, grow up and fix it! If she was kicking him or throwing bricks I'd have a diffrent view.

1. Tell the ***** to do some squats so he doesnt drop the bike again. 2. Dont ride angry, obviously he was puttin on a front bout how mad he was or he wouldnt have left his helmet there in the first place. 3. If he was smart he would pay for it cause it is his fault but use it to his advantage makin her feel like she had something to do with it. Thats that guilt that gets you laid even when she not in the mood.
