So I'm eating a bag of chips when suddenly....
....I'm near the bottom of the bag and I pull out a leaf. A LEAF...WTF!?! It's a bag of Herr's Red Hot chips, 2.375 oz. I find this to be pretty revolting. Where did this leaf come from and how did it get in my bag of chips? How did it get in the factory? Did it fall out of somebody's hair? Did it get dragged in from a worker's shoe? What the hell else did I just consume?

Oh, I'm saving the entire bag. I took a picture and already sent a bitch e-mail to Herr's. Below is a picture of the leaf. It's nothing huge, and I'm well aware that foreign materials end up in everything I eat, but as long as I don't see it or taste it, I have no problem with it. When I do see it, even if it is something as trivial as a leaf, it ruins a meal. Once I have the visualization, all I can think about is Herr's employees clocking in with mud and leaves attached to their boots...maybe some worm and insect guts that they stomped on along the way...and I try to imagine how it got from their to the bag.

I live near the factory. When they weren't looking, I slipped the leaf into the shipment that was heading to Pittsburgh.
Their facility is pretty clean and I'm actually surprised that something as big as a leaf got through, though when they do bring the trucks in, they dump them directly into a pit of sorts. Might have gotten at that point.
