Scorpion vs Icon

I would go with the exo if it fits your head... I have and odd shaped head so when I tried one on and it gave me a headache in about 2 minutes, the next size up was like a bobble head... It really sucked cuz they are such a deal for the price ... ended up with a shoei it was hands down the most comfortable helmet i tried on. its perfect!! except for the horrid whistle when the visors up lol

exo-700 > alliance ssr
As far as shoei goes what you end up paying for is quality removable liners, better venting and noise reduction, superior paint and better designed mechanisims. Is it worth two to three hundred bucks more? Depends on who you are, what your financial situation is and how long you can make a helmet last.
It's likely not any safer than the scorpion, but it is nicer. The visor mechanism releases and attaches more solidly, the detents seem better placed, the defogging setting actually slides the entire visor forward to break the seal instead of just a corner like the exo, etc etc. Don't get me wrong, the scorpion lids we've owned have been really nice and I'd have no problem buying and using more of them, but the shoeis are nicer.
There's a exo-750 and a rf-1100 sitting a few feet from me right now and not too long ago we gave away an alliance ssr (serious noise and wind buffeting issues).
