Wave Etiquette
basically you wave frantically like you're really super excited to see them [sm=hiya.gif]
i love how between 1:20 and 1:35 he takes his hands off to point and say "it would really be stupid to take your hands of to wave on corners like this one" [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
So I broke two rules yesterday: I did the "two fingers down low Harley dude salute" from a sportbike, and I flashed it at a girl on a Rebel as I passed her, going the same direction, on the FDR Drive. But she waved back, so maybe she's just as clueless as I am.
I hate the wave. Just becuase you ride a motorcycle to doesn't mean I share some special bond with you (Regardless of what bike you are on).
If I'm on a long ride I do wave just to break the boredom. But cruising down a split road or interstate or a two way road I normally don't.
If I see a friend on a bike I shoot them the bird and they'll shoot it back. Not sure if that counts.
I did see a guy almost crash trying to wave to me in a turn. Some BMW rider. I saw him get squirlly for a secondthen save it.
The wave has got to stop. But to me proper etiquite is if you are riding on a twisty road and someone comes up on you that is faster. When they start to attempt to pass you don't speed up. That pisses me off more than anything.
