RIP tom
i know how you must feel. my fiance was killed in a car accident about 3 years ago. still haven't gotten over it. probably never will. i'll get easier with time though... after her loss, i wanted to get a masters in engineering and help make cars safer... but i never got around to it. nothing you can really do but encourage your friends and others in this forum to be safe. that will probably bring you the most comfort as it does me.
RIP...It's always sad to hear a fellow rider go down. I know it's been said but it can't be said enough, always be aware of your surroundings and always wear your gear. I don't know if gear would have helped but I know it wouldn't have hurt. I'm sorry to hear of your loss.
Body: A 21-year-old Omaha man was critically injured Saturday in a motorcycle crash near Interstate 80 and 13th Street. Police said Thomas Scott was driving a Honda CBR 600 cycle at a high rate of speed on the 13th Street off-ramp when it sideswiped another motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Timothy Ferro, also of Omaha. Both cycles went out of control and slid. Scott's cycle hit the rear of a Chrysler 300 sedan stopped at the traffic light at 13th Street. Scott was taken to Creighton University Medical Center with internal injuries and was in surgery Satuday night, said Police Sgt. Michael Davis. Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets. Neither Ferro nor the driver of the Chrysler, Sharon Zych, 66, was injured.
This wreck happened at about 4:15pm and Tom was lifeflighted to the hospital.
What this doesn't say is that later that night, sometime between maybe 10:30 and 11:15 Tom passed as a result of losing so much blood.
Unfortunately Tom left behind a girlfriend and a son. Tiffany (girlfriend)

Tank, so sorry about your loss. As far as coping, nobody can make yourpain and sense of loss go away, but you need to rely on your friends right now. Also, out of respect for your friend, please make sure you and friends support his girlfriend and son...they'll need it!
Just read the news account link...it really brings it home when you see it and read it on a news-website. That just stinks all the way around Tank. Not that you really asked for my advice but I'll dare give it anyway: Consider taking a break from riding 'til your head is right.
I hope your fundraiser goes well.
RIP Tom
