Yesterday was the first time taking my RR out, and first time ever really riding more than just around town on other peoples bikes lol. Boy, I was SORE last night. I rode over 140 miles yesterday and I'm feeling it thanks to the wind. Wrists were a little sore just b/c it took me a while to find a comfortable highway position, but the wind was beating me up the entire time. It was 15-25 here yestereday, gusts above 35 , lake wind advisory (and I had to go over several bridges lol)...
I guess what I'm getting at is, I HATE IT! It was a good "welcome to sport bike riding" day, and I can't wait to ride in more normal conditions. I had a hard time holding a steady line coming home on the back roads yesterday, couldn't really enjoy the ride. BUT, I had a blast either way. Got home and ordered a new jacket and a double bubble puig smoked screen! My lanky *** had a hard time getting full tuck behind that stock shield lol. Hoping the double bubble will help reduce some of the buffering
Riding tomorrow with less wind- can't wait !

I dont mind it, did it today we had 15 to 20mph gusts. It definetly makes u pay attention to where u place the bike on the road, as a buffer if u get pushed by the wind.

A couple of years ago,i remember walking to my Bike sideways @midnight to ride home 80 kms.No kidding, the wind blew me from one side of the Freeway to the other.I seemed to be going nowhere.I ended up going the "Winged Keel" position....Legs spread open, yeah that made it so easy. That trip home took over 1 hour.....I was still mumbling when i woke up the next morning, lol

I enjoy the wind. I have done long trips in the wind where semi trucks are slowed down to 35-40mph on the freeway due to the wind and that sure makes it interesting but still I wouldnt choose a vehicle over my bike

Hail storm vet here. Nothing like the feeling of hundreds of marbles hitting you with 40mph wind with stinging rain. Turn from grey to **** in seconds.
