I ride for the enjoyment. If its to cold, to hot, to wet, to late, to windy I rarely will ride. Granted I have riden in each element. I remember my first bike riding it in 4 inches of snow and ice to get home. I really dont find that much enjoyment riding in a wind storm when I can easily just take a car or truck.

Cold on long rides is horrible. I'll ride in the high 20's if it's 20 miles or so.

when i ride over the bridges that span the bay area ( not some lil honky bridge like for a river, im talking a bay) there are pretty high windspeeds, i just tuck and go faster, the faster i go the better i cut through the wind and more stable i am im not talking faster like 100+ i mean like 85 90, its a lot better than going 65 weird huh?

X, glad to hear you'll go out in frigid temps. i know you're used to warm weather and all . my commute to work is 30 miles one way and lately i've been doing it in subfreezing temps.

I have over-pants and a good balaclava. Throw a hoodie under my jacket and it's on!
